WARDOGS Season 2 Wipe: What Resets on 15 October and What You Keep
Streamers disagree on what the wipe takes. Bulkhead spelled it out in April, in a video most players never watched. Here is exactly what it said, and what it has not repeated since.

Season 2 of WARDOGS starts on 15 October 2026. That date is almost the whole of Bulkhead's Steam post from 22 September: “WARDOGS Season 02 is coming,” the date, and “Stay tuned for more details.” No patch notes, no feature list, and not a word about the wipe.
The wipe rules do exist in Bulkhead's own words. They are in “Early Access & Beyond”, a video the studio posted on 7 April 2026, five months before launch. It is the only first-party description of what the end of a season does that we found in Bulkhead's Steam posts, videos and website, so this article quotes it, and says plainly where it has not been repeated since.
What resets when Season 2 starts?
Your cash and your XP. In Bulkhead's words: “At the end of a season, your cash and XP progression will reset with your cash auto converted into gold bars.”
Your levels are made of XP, so XP back to zero means every level back to the start, and everything behind a level gate locked again: weapons, vehicles, attachments. Bulkhead has not listed the unlocks one by one, and it has not said whether an unlock fee you already paid survives. Plan on paying it again.
The reason the video gives is the one you would expect from a game with a persistent economy: a wipe puts newer players on a more level playing field with veterans, and lets the studio rework progression while the game is in Early Access.
What you keep: Gold Bars and cosmetics
“Your gold bars and cosmetics from a season will stay permanently on your account across seasons.” Gold Bars, in the same video, are “the end-game currency that you use to purchase end-game cosmetics that become permanently unlocked on your account.”
So the only thing that crosses the wipe is cosmetic. Nothing that makes you stronger in a fight carries over, and that is the point. There is no way to buy past it either: Bulkhead's pre-order post of 11 August says it will “NEVER monetize in-game cash or gold bars, they must be earned through play.”
Convert your cash now, or let the wipe do it?
Bulkhead's plan lets you do the conversion yourself during a season: you can “optionally exchange your banked cash you've earned for in-game gold bars,” at a rate that “will fluctuate daily.” Whatever cash is left at the end converts on its own.
That makes it a timing choice, and Bulkhead framed it as one: “Do you invest now or do you buy in the dip?” We do not publish the rate. It moves daily, no source we read records it, and Bulkhead has not said which rate the automatic conversion at the season end uses. What is clear is that the automatic conversion happens at a moment you do not choose, so if you have been watching the rate, converting yourself is the only way to pick the day.
The trade in the last days of the season is yours to make. Every dollar you do not spend ends up as Gold Bars one way or the other. Every dollar you spend on a loadout is gone.
What we could not confirm
That the April rules still stand. The Season 2 post does not restate them, and neither the Season 1 changelog nor Patch 0.11 mentions Gold Bars at all. Nothing in Bulkhead's Steam posts or videos since contradicts them either. Several sites and streamers disagree on whether Gold Bars survive a wipe; the only line from Bulkhead itself says they do.
Season 2 unlock levels. The ladder has moved before. The Season 1 changelog pushed the Artillery Tank from Career level 55 to 90 and pulled the Deagle from 90 to 85, and Bulkhead says the wipe is what lets it rework progression. Do not plan a Season 2 route off Season 1 levels, and that includes our own sniper route.
What is in Season 2. The 36-second teaser shows scenes players have read as rain, fire and a mobile anti-air vehicle. Those are readings of a trailer, not announcements, so we are not listing them as features.
What to do before 15 October
Save toward a cosmetic only if you want one. Gold Bars and what you buy with them are the only things that stay, so they are the only thing worth saving for.
Do not grind a level for an unlock in the final week. It buys you the days left until 15 October and nothing after.
Treat day one of Season 2 as a fresh start. If Season 2 puts everyone back on the $10,000 Bulkhead's store page promises a new player, our first-gun guide applies again from the first match. And the recruit discount is tied to your level, so a level reset should bring it back. Bulkhead has not said so, which is why it is a should.
Our weapon pages and tier list are read from sources that refresh weekly, so when the Season 2 vendor changes a price, they follow it. This article will not change: it is a record of what Bulkhead had said three weeks before the wipe.
Quick answers
When does WARDOGS Season 2 start? 15 October 2026, per Bulkhead's Steam post of 22 September.
Is there a wipe? Yes, by Bulkhead's plan: cash and XP reset at the end of every season. The Season 2 post does not restate it.
Do I keep my Gold Bars? Yes. Bulkhead says Gold Bars and cosmetics “stay permanently on your account across seasons.”
What happens to my cash? It converts to Gold Bars automatically when the season ends, or earlier if you exchange it yourself.
Do I keep my unlocks? Bulkhead has not listed them, but they sit behind levels and levels are XP. Assume not.
