The WARDOGS Recruit Discount Buys Less Than Everyone Says
Every guide says make your expensive mistakes early. I added up the recorded fees and most of the expensive mistakes are gated behind levels you cannot reach in time.

Below Wardog level 9 the vendor takes 50% off everything, and it applies to the one time unlock fee as well as the price you pay each spawn. Cross level 9 and it is gone permanently. Every guide in this game draws the same conclusion from that: buy the expensive things now, make your expensive mistakes while they are half price.
I added up what the vendor actually charges. The advice is harder to follow than it sounds, and for most people reading this it is already too late, which is worth saying out loud rather than selling a window that has closed.
Of the 26 weapons carrying a recorded unlock fee, 9 are reachable inside the window. The other 17 are gated above level 9, so getting to them means levelling past the discount that was supposed to pay for them.
| Weapon | Unlocks at | Unlock fee | You save | Per spawn |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Deagle | No gate recorded | $75,000 | $37,500 | $900 |
| GGX 18 | No gate recorded | $50,000 | $25,000 | $800 |
| RPG-7 | Level 5 | $30,000 | $15,000 | $2,000 |
| M1911 | No gate recorded | $25,000 | $12,500 | $300 |
| PP-19 Vityaz | Level 4 | $25,000 | $12,500 | $1,200 |
| SKS | Level 5 | $25,000 | $12,500 | $2,400 |
| Judge | No gate recorded | $15,000 | $7,500 | $250 |
| AK74 | Level 3 | $10,000 | $5,000 | $1,600 |
| GGX 17 | No gate recorded | $5,000 | $2,500 | $200 |
That is $260,000 of unlocks, so $130,000 saved, and the honest read is that it is a handful of sidearms and two cheap primaries. Useful on a fresh account. Not the windfall the advice implies.
Here is everything the window cannot reach on its own, which is where the real money is:
| Weapon | Unlocks at | Unlock fee | You save | Per spawn |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AMR 50 | Level 35 | $200,000 | $100,000 | $8,800 |
| FAL | Level 35 | $200,000 | $100,000 | $6,500 |
| MGL-40 | Level 35 | $200,000 | $100,000 | $6,000 |
| MK22 | Level 25 | $150,000 | $75,000 | $6,400 |
| PKM | Level 30 | $150,000 | $75,000 | $4,500 |
| Super-45 | Level 35 | $150,000 | $75,000 | $2,600 |
| BMR-308 | Level 30 | $125,000 | $62,500 | $6,000 |
| MAAWS | Level 20 | $125,000 | $62,500 | $2,600 |
| M249 SAW | Level 15 | $100,000 | $50,000 | $3,200 |
| M4 | Level 20 | $100,000 | $50,000 | $2,800 |
| SV98 | Level 19 | $100,000 | $50,000 | $5,200 |
| Compound Bow | Level 17 | $75,000 | $37,500 | $800 |
| MP5 | Level 15 | $75,000 | $37,500 | $1,500 |
| M500 | Level 10 | $50,000 | $25,000 | $1,200 |
| Mosin Nagant | Level 10 | $50,000 | $25,000 | $4,500 |
| SVD | Level 12 | $50,000 | $25,000 | $4,800 |
| Galil | Level 10 | $35,000 | $17,500 | $2,200 |
And this is the part I could not answer. Whether you can pay a weapon's unlock fee before reaching its level gate is not published by any source I read. If you can, the window is worth $1,097,500 and the standard advice is right. If you cannot, it is worth $130,000 and the standard advice is close to worthless. That single fact swings it by more than a million, and every guide that tells you to buy the AMR 50 early skips straight past it.
I am not going to guess which. One database publishes the unlock fee and another says the reported fees disagree, so it is the least settled figure here. When a source states it, this article says so.
If you are past level 9 already, none of this is recoverable, and that is most people by now. What it is still good for is a second account, or deciding whether the friend you are about to drag into this game should spend their first hours buying guns or buying unlocks.
