Which SMG Is Worth Buying in WARDOGS? Every SMG, Priced and Compared
Class analysisEarly Access

The SMG shelf is where WARDOGS asks its hardest question at the smallest price. These guns are built for the shortest fights in the game, and in a game that charges you for dying, the question is never only which one wins a corner. It is which one you can afford to drop on the way out of it.

Every SMG, cheapest first

AMP-9$90022900100m5267ms-C
PP-19 Vityaz$1,200-800200m--Lv 4 · $25,000D
MP5$1,50022800200m5300msLv 15 · $75,000C
Super-45$2,60030120050m4150msLv 35 · $150,000S

Shots to kill and time to kill are our arithmetic, not a measurement: the recorded damage against an unarmoured 100 HP target, body shots only, with no damage falloff over distance. Armour, headshots and range all move the real number, and nobody publishes figures for them that three sources agree on, so we leave them out rather than guess. A dash in the table means the figure is not recorded or the weapon is not modelled. The unlock column needs its own warning: One database publishes the unlock fee and another says the reported fees disagree, so it is the least settled figure here.

Speed against price

On our arithmetic, the quickest kill in the class belongs to the Super-45 (150ms). The cheapest SMG on the vendor is the AMP-9 ($900).

When those two are the same gun, the choice makes itself. When they are not, you are looking at the trade this game asks about every purchase: a faster kill, against a gun you can lose twice and still be playing. We wrote up the arithmetic behind that in cost per life, and it applies here more than anywhere, because an SMG fight ends one way or the other in a second.

Range is where an SMG stops

The longest recorded effective range in the class is the PP-19 Vityaz (200m). For comparison, the longest-reaching assault rifle is the FAL (800m). An SMG is a decision to take the fight close, and the range column is the honest version of that decision: past it, the rate of fire is spraying at a target the gun was never meant to reach.

Our time-to-kill figure assumes every shot lands at full damage. At the edge of an SMG's range that assumption is at its weakest, which is one more reason to read the TTK column as a best case.

What the published rankings say

AMP-9 sits at C on our list, placed by 5 of 6 sources. PP-19 Vityaz sits at D on our list, placed by 4 of 6 sources. MP5 sits at C on our list, placed by 5 of 6 sources. Super-45 sits at S on our list, placed by 5 of 6 sources.

A missing letter is not a verdict. Our list only gives a letter once enough of the sources we read have placed a weapon, so a gun nobody bothered to rank shows up as unplaced rather than bad.

Two prices, not one

The vendor price is what you pay every life. The unlock is paid once, gated by level, and for the top of this shelf it is many times the vendor price. Both are in the table above, and it is worth reading them together before you save toward an SMG: the gun you can buy today and the gun you are working toward are often different rows.

Community-recorded from Closed Alpha and Closed Beta vendor screens, cross-checked across independent databases. Bulkhead publishes no official weapon figures, and Early Access can retune any of them. Every figure carries the same stamp, Alpha 1 · 7 Aug 2026, and no database we read has re-recorded one since. Tier placements are read live from our own list, which is built from 6 attributed published rankings rather than from telemetry, so they move as that list does.
